oil museum

VISIT

“Visiting this museum is living the dream of my father, Umberto. Furthermore, it is precisely because of the link with this special place that our products are called Museum."
Flavio Turri

CONTACTS &

BOOKINGS

The path unfolds starting from the story of an era in which processing techniques seemed immutable to reach the beginning of the twentieth century, with the turning point offered by technological progress. On display we find ancient and unusual tools, in use since the eighteenth century: lever presses, water-powered wheel crushers and other original tools. A special section tells about the cultivation and production of oil through videos and educational panels.

Really cute little museum, you can do it in 30-40 min max. The videos explaining the process of making olive oil are very interesting. The shop is a bit pricey but offers a wide variety of regional oils to buy. I would definitely recommend to go to the tasting station were a professional explains and lets you try different oils and aceto balsamico, a very nice surprise and helped us make the right choices.

It's so busy we couldn't even buy tickets so had to leave without a tour or buying anything unfortunately. Looks like a good stop if it's not too busy. Go early

Pretty good variety of oil and balsamic vinegar. Not all are amazing but they have many that are. The museum itself isn't very large at all and take maybe five minutes to go through. Overall worth the trip to try out a few new flavors and I guarantee you will come back a box of your favorites.

This is well worth a visit. In a very short time they provide a very informative education on Olive oil and how it is made both now and in the past. They have a few nicely done videos and many museum quality items from the history of Olive oil production. At the end you can sample many items and buy some if you like. Also note that the restroom is outside on the side of the building and they need to buzz you in from the front desk.
